Contour-Studio
Design a pattern around an outline and export it to CAD or a 3D printer.
Choose a base shape (circle, ellipse, rounded rectangle, or your own shape from a DXF or STL) and lay a repeating pattern around it: square, triangle, trapezoid, half circle or sine, inward or outward. Contour-Studio spaces the pattern so that it fits exactly.
The outline can also be raised into a vase, with twist, bulge and a narrower or wider top, solid or hollow. Everything can be exported for further work in CAD programs such as Rhinoceros, or for a 3D printer.
What does it do?
- Patterns with fillets, inward or outward
- Size as outer or inner dimension, with warnings for sizes that are too small
- Import the base shape from DXF or as a cross-section of an STL model
- Vase: height, twist, top scale, bulge; solid or hollow with minimum wall thickness
- 3D preview (F3)
- Export: DXF R12, STEP (curves or solid) and STL; tested with Rhinoceros 2.0, and STL and STEP solid also with Flashforge Flash Studio Desktop
- Save and open projects (.omt)
